As a proud son of Wilson Paterson, David was born and raised in Ashburn, Ontario, and spent most of his time at The Royal Ashburn Golf Club, where he developed a love for the game of golf, the business and for the great outdoors. David has a strong work ethic, which is evident in his day-to-day operations managing, maintaining, and operating what has grown to be one of the best golf courses in Canada. David has been involved in the business for over 20 years and has gained invaluable experience from all aspects of the operation. Spending the first few years looking after the driving range and power carts to now overseeing the golf course maintenance and operations. As a CPGA Golf Professional, David has a great working knowledge for what it takes to make The Royal Ashburn great.

Graduating from the University of Guelph, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, in 2002, David has continued to educate himself with the completion of a Turf Mangers Course (Guelph University), and the Canadian Securities Course. To further enhance is understanding of the golf industry and to view the golf business from a new perspective David took 6 months away from The Royal Ashburn in 2003 and headed south to caddy at a very prestigious golf course in California. It was a great learning experience for him and allowed him the opportunity to meet a number of very inspiring and influential people, such as George W. Bush Sr., Bill Gates, Dan Marino and Joe Pesci, to name a few. David is looking forward to his future at The Royal Ashburn Golf Club. He enjoys working with his family and continues to develop the club into the world-class facility it is. David is thrilled to be a part of his fathers’ dream and is very excited to make his own dreams for the course come to life.
