Don Sanderson Celebrity Cup

In honour of our son's memory we welcome you to the Donald Sanderson Celebrity Cup golf tournament.  July 14 is Donald's birthday; what a perfect day for this first-ever tournament!

As our son would, we encourage you to enjoy your game with as much passion, precision and, of course, laughter as possible.  Donald loved a game of golf as long as with it came, fun and friends.  So welcome friends to an event that is to become an annual one in support of the Donald Sanderson Memorial Fund.

As a vibrant, passionate, young leader our son helped others develop to their full potential, to achieve all they could in everything they chose to experience.  Donald's passions was clearly demonstrated through his desire to learn about everything and everyone he encountered in life.  As a result he became intimately involved in his community on and off the ice along with his academic community.  Through his Fund we will keep his vibrant memory alive and support young future leaders with a sports attitude to thrive to achieve their goals and desires through education and development and support opportunities for those less fortunate to experience the thrill of sports and other life adventures through appropriate community causes.

By participating in this event, you are honouring our son and celebrating his life.  Let his young spirit allow you to soar through this tournament just as he soared through his 21 years of life.

Don Sanderson #40, a defencemen for the Whitby Dunlops passed away on January 2.  Don went into a coma after a fight during a game on December 12 when he hit his head on the ice.
