In History....

Royal Ashburn Golf Club has hosted the Canadian Tour Fall Qualifying School since 1974.  This event earns us the title of holding the 3 rd longest PGA sanctioned tour event held at one venue in all of North America.  The longest running is the Riviara Golf Club hosting the LA Open dating back to 1926 and the second is Augusta National, hosting The Masters beginning in 1934.

Originally from Toronto, Frank grew up playing many sports. The game of golf became a part of his life during his early teens. Taking a great liking to the game, he played where ever he could at a moments notice. During the summer, Frank ventured to many municipal golf courses across the G.T.A. with Don Valley as his home base.

Fresh out of school, Frank spent 18 months at a local golf retail store learning that part of the business. After that time, the next step was to work at a golf course.

Frank was hired that winter to work at Rosedale Golf Club, located in the heart of Toronto. During the 1986 golf season, Frank became a Golf Professional. In the middle of his 14-year tenure at Rosedale, Frank played on the Canadian Tour for 2 seasons. (1991 and 1992) Ironically, both years Frank qualified at Thunderbird Golf Club.

In March of 2000, Frank was interviewed and subsequently hired by the Paterson family to be the new Head Professional at the newly renamed Royal Ashburn Golf Club. Frank has contributed to the Royal Ashburn team for the last 8 years.
